These birds are incredible to watch. Rather than hover in the air they come in low at a fair speed (in this case through a wood).

The unfortunate victim (a collared dove) managed to survive the initial attack but was pursued into the undergrowth and dragged out by the hawk. A pretty barbaric illustration of nature at work.

That's a Wood Pigeon it has there, not a Collared Dove. Amazing capture though, I can't believe the size of the prey those things can take!
